If UpTrust isn't right for you, you can close your account for good. This frees you from the site and takes your name off what you posted.
Where to find it: Open Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom.
How to delete
- In the Danger Zone, click Delete.
- If the dialog asks for your password, type it. If you signed up only with Google or Apple, you may not have one.
- Type your display name to confirm you mean it.
- Click Delete Account.
What happens to your stuff
Deleting cannot be undone. Your account is gone, and you're signed out. Your old posts and comments stay on the site so conversations still make sense, but your name comes off them. Where your name used to be, people will see [deleted] instead.
What happens to money
If you paid to attend an event that hasn't happened yet, deleting forfeits it — there is no refund. The dialog names those events and what you paid before you confirm. A checkout still in progress is different: if it completes after your account is gone, it's refunded automatically.
Events you're hosting that people have already paid for will stop the deletion. Refund those attendees first, and then your account can go. Cancelling an event refunds everyone for you only if you turned on auto-refund when you set the ticket price; otherwise refund each attendee from the guest list.
