The Issue is not profit maximzation (or capitalism), it's unconscious self-organization
Recently I was telling some people about UpTrust and they were like, "so basically profit maximization sucks right?" and i was like, "profit maximization’s just one output of a much larger thing, which is our unconsciousness.... replication crisis
I’d love a good explanation of this, because I feel I only understand pieces but not enough to explain it to others. I know there are issues where only significant results get published, so if someone redoes a published experiment and it fails, the failure to replicate doesn’t... it’s interesting what things age well, and what things don’t. What science pushes forward and what things we haven’t improved, or backslid on. Also to consider what patterns lead to these things....
