Yep! We killed live updating of comment trees after MMS feedback as a stopgap measure, and we haven’t sorted out what to replace it with.
Something to consider before putting substantial work in here is whether the change is likely to survive a switch the new twitter/tree hybrid screen that will be mocked up and implemented over the next month or so.... If someone wanted to UX this thing out, I imagine we could come up with something much more useful. My proposal above is basically a "poor man’s" version of an Inbox view, still maybe good enough to get some mileage out of and get a clearer sense of it, before UX-ing out an even... - b_b...
Inbox view proposal/request for feedback
I’m supposed to put this on basecamp too, probably, but since I’m here I’ll put it here first. I’m envisioning we could maybe quickly and easily have another view (in addition to the current home page, and in addition to the imagined twitter-ish view) based on our current Inbox.... Team has improved a bunch of stuff already, nice work! (such as all the inbox stuff i mentioned in last week’s @dogfood noticings) I really like the new front page in the middle, I know it’s not our priority but these small UI things make a big difference for me I want to be... eg: @blake grateful to have our talk last week (and not in a few months) eg: although i’m super hyped about the trustyscores only being domain specific and think this is a core aspect of uptrust, @pete made it clear that we wouldn’t have this by MMS but also found a workable way... How did round 1 of talking-listening pairs go? What do we improve?

I believe Pete’s getting Jen onboarded to do UX pretty soon so i’m not concerned with specific choices, more one level up (in this cases, differentiation my own replies to threads and what they’re coded as visually on the threads and in the inbox, with other people’s... Dogfood Noticings, Jan 15

One question I have is—are you guys going to be doing the implementation or are UI people? In other words, are the people most affected not yet able to weigh in?

As soon as we can, can we start using uptrust instead of slack? eat our own dogfood? do we want to do this?
