Law of large numbers applied to psychological wounds
The law of large numbers basically says that the more instances, the more diluted weird strings of improbable events become relative to the whole—not by removing or balancing.... I’m thinking this is a nice frame to apply to bad psychological experiences—"wounds" or "trauma." We don’t "heal"—we add new data until the past is proportionally negligible in our experience....
